01Who we are
Atril is an app for musicians and bands, built by Alex Ordoñez ("we" or "Atril"). This policy explains what information we collect when you use the app, what we use it for and what control you have over it.
02What we collect
Account data. When you sign up we store your email address and the name you choose to show in the app, along with the language you use Atril in, so we can write to you in it.
If you sign in with Apple or Google, they give us your email and, the first time only, your name; never your password. If you choose "Hide My Email", Apple gives us an address that forwards to yours and we never see the real one. When you delete your account we ask Apple to revoke the permission you gave Atril.
Content you create. The songs you add (title, artist, lyrics, chords, key, BPM, YouTube or Spotify links) and the setlists you build (name, date, song order and the length of each song).
Collaboration data. If you share a setlist with other musicians using an invitation code, they can see your name, the messages you write in that setlist's chat, your annotations (highlights or notes on the lyrics) and the key you pick for each song — and you see the same from them.
Automatic technical data. Standard connection information (such as your IP address) collected by our infrastructure provider, and whether you are connected in real time during rehearsal mode, visible only to the other members of that setlist.
Microphone. The tuner needs to hear the note you play. The sound is analysed on your phone, as it happens: it is not recorded, not stored and never sent to any server, ours or anyone else's. All that comes out of it is the note shown on screen, and that goes when you close the tuner. The microphone is only on while that screen is open, and iOS shows you the orange dot in the status bar while it is. If you never open the tuner, Atril never asks for the microphone.
03How we use your data
- To create and manage your account and keep you signed in.
- To store your songs and setlists and sync them across your devices.
- To run the real-time features: rehearsal mode, chat and shared annotations.
- To contact you when needed (for example, about a problem with your account).
We never use your data for advertising and we never sell it to anyone.
05How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the app itself, under Profile → Delete my account: your profile, songs and setlists are permanently deleted, along with your chat messages, annotations and custom keys. It is immediate and irreversible, and you don't need to write to us.
Note that deleting your account also deletes the setlists you shared, so the musicians who joined them will lose access.
06Your rights
You have the right to access your data, correct it, request a copy (portability) or ask us to delete it. If you live in the European Union, these rights are granted by the GDPR. To exercise any of them, email us.
07Security
Your session is protected by encrypted authentication, and data access is controlled row by row (Row Level Security): each user can only see and change the information they are allowed to, whether their own or from a setlist shared with them.
08Children
Atril is not intended for children under 13 without adult supervision. If your group or band includes minors, the account must be managed or supervised by a responsible adult.
09Changes to this policy
If we make a significant change to this policy, we will let you know inside the app. The "last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
10Contact
